Empowering MyMedia

 Bismillah.

A few days ago Kak Hanis approached me for a workshop session for ARIF Winter Enlightenment Seminar. Since she initially asked if I was free on Friday's night, I immediately said yes......................and regretted it later after she proposed me to the talk.

But I was all still positive with thought, oh maybe this could be my pahala and development platform, so I went ahead. Again I regretted it later after she mentioned the objective of the workshop.

"Empowering Social Media"."Attractive and purposefulness content".

It took me a few days to plan for the session. Went through a few articles, went on Netflix documentary the social dilemma, went for couples of TEDTalk; but I still couldn't feel much sense of relatedness with the topic. I went ahead with my new findings and combined with what I have known and practised for long and as my reflections below are what I will improve in the future:

1. Don't reinvent the wheel: this quote was from Kak Hanis herself.

I found that sharing what I have known and practised is easier as compared to the new findings/information just for the sake of going into the depth.

2. This topic is actually within my expertise. But it's hard to share than learn.

I have been in Media for long ever since I was in high school. But I have realised that I have rarely invested my time and money to seek further knowledge within Media. Because I was confident with the technical skills I have personally acquired. I forgot that I need more than technical skills to fill the gaps within the media community.

I can't let go of Media, because I am deeply immersed with its world. But I have finally realised that these few years, I have made no progress with my media.

Therefore, I have decided that I am going to break my current comfort bubble and move outside.

I will start today.
