Three: Survivor

Bismillah.

Day Post Three: Okay I failed. It's really hard to keep up with a post a day, what am I thinking. I do have variety of niche to explore but their significance are differed to each other that required me to filter each one and rearrange them accordingly.

Okay here is the main problem, either you have the topic but no time/ motivation to write on it or you have all the time and motivation with no clear direction of your writing.

When Dobelli put in survivorship bias on the first chapter, initially I thought it was his main selling point, the most relatable to everyone out of 99. But as I read thru, I saw the bigger picture of it.

Perhaps, he wanted to clear any assumption  of "if he can do the million-copy bestseller this easy (publishing his personal 'journal' to the public) I can do it as well" that continue to "okay let's read this book to get an idea of how I can also make one". The chapter for readers to re-set his mindset and intention before the reading.

Survivorship bias: The tendency to view the success of sth/ someone (those that made it to past the selection process) and overlooking those that did not, usually due to lack of visibility of that unsuccessful. This can then lead people to overestimate their chances of success

"Behind every popular author you can find 100 other writers whose books will never sell,"

"Even if your success stems from pure coincidence, you'll discover similarities with other winners and be tempted to mark these as 'success factors'.  However, if you ever visit the graveyard of failed individuals and companies, you will realise that its tenants possessed many of the same traits that characterise your success."

I bet I am not doing a post a day just because I knew this sisters who are doing one vlog a day.
