Khair

 Bismillah. 

We had an usrah last week. Tafsir An Nas. 

One of the best reminders for me was verse 4.

"From the evil of the retreating whisperer"

One of the tasfeer on al khanas (tenggelam timbul) explained the verse indicated that the whisperer (Satan) will never give up. They advance and hide (retreat) and re-advance. The scene repeated continuously until the time of doomsday. 

This explains the ups and down of our iman. 

I am struggling with my iman as much as the other Muslim daily. When it goes down, I despise myself the most, when it goes up, I question my weak iman to withhold my temptation to sin. Many times whenever I promise myself I should change I find myself re-circling the same cycle of sin, repentance, and khairat. 

After went through the verse, I have finally had to admit that this circle will never end. But I have the choice to minimise exponentially the maaruf space and widen the repentance & khairat circle. And hopefully (insyaAllah) when it comes to my time, it will be when I am in the khairat circle.
